Saturday 13th saw the Sharks take to GHA’s newly built 3G pitch to get in some last match practice before the men’s opening game of the 2019 SARFL season.
There was great attendance on the day as there were two nine aside teams plus a bench. Most of our new players managed to get some valuable game time under their belts and put into practice what they had been working on at training.
With the teams split as evenly as possible Captains Adam Jack and John McIntyre guided their sides through a very close and tough fought fight throughout.
Club captain/coach Adam Jack gave comment on the game afterwards:- “It was a great game, very competitive and enjoyable to play in. From a coaching perspective it was great to see our new players having a crack and really get involved at the contest, plus seeing them use what we had worked on at training was really rewarding and pleasing to see. GHA’s new pitch is terrific, I had thoughts is may be very tiring and unforgiving but it was great, not as many cuts and bruises as I had imagined.
We are really looking forward to the start of the men’s season now, everyone has worked so hard from the start of pre-season to now. We get the chance to measure ourselves against quality opposition against the Kangaroos and we can’t wait.”
Our first SARFL game is coming Saturday 27th of April 2pm ball up at GHA, everyone is welcome along to cheer the club on to victory.
